It’s important we understand some foundations of this gift along with some honest differences between men and women, and the critical importance of good/healthy communication. Being a people pleaser affects so many areas of our lives — friendships, marriages, parenting, decision making, our ability to share the gospel (or resolve conflict) and address sin or receive criticism. Living with and Controlling Your Emotions

Emotions are a very real part of us. They can be so wonderful and yet also so challenging to manage. What does it look like for us to have self-control in this area and honor the Lord with them? We’re all so different…some of us tend to “give in” to how we’re feeling when the emotions are strong and others would rather “stuff” them and not deal with them. Teaching Your Children Self-Control

We all need self-control. Our children need us to help them learn it and grow in it. Our culture encourages our children to have their “big emotions” and respond to their feelings. The Bible tells us we need to control our emotions (verbally, emotionally, and physically) and that a man without self-control is like an unprotected city. It’s dangerous. As parents, we are called to help equip our children in the biblical principles they’ll need to navigate life. Join us as we share practical tips and stories of what this has looked like in our homes and what the Lord has for you in yours. 

Time with the Lord

It’s important to spend time with the Lord. This is both a discipline and a relationship. And what that time looks like changes over the years as we are in different seasons of life. From babies, to toddlers to demanding work schedules to sickness — we need to be flexible but also pro-active and creative in living it out. And what do you do when your quiet times are rather “quiet” and you’re not sure what the Lord is saying to you? Respecting Your Husband

Ephesians 5:33b says, “…each of you also must love his wife…and the wife must respect her husband.” This is the godly assignment that the Lord has given us as wives. It’s not always easy to do. Especially in a world that tells us our husbands must earn respect first. That is not what this verse says. We want to be women who fully embrace what it means to respect our husbands and bring glory to the Lord as we do it. Many of the principles are also applicable to women who aren’t wives yet. Respect for the role of leadership is vital. Join us as we share our victories, struggles, and practical applications of this very beautiful assignment from the Lord.
